Delete your Esha account

You can delete your Esha account and the personal data tied to it at any time. You do not need to be signed in to read this page — but you will need access to your account email (or to email us from it) so we can verify the request.

The fastest way: in the app

  1. Open Esha and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Delete account.
  3. Confirm. This removes your account immediately (it calls DELETE /api/v1/user on our servers).

If you can't use the app: email us

If you've uninstalled the app, lost access, or would rather not sign in, email us and we'll verify and delete your account for you:

  • Email: privacy@askesha.com
  • Subject: Delete my account
  • Include: the email address on your Esha account, so we can locate and verify it. Please send the request from that same email address if you can — it lets us verify you faster.

We acknowledge verifiable requests within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days (sooner where required by law). We may ask you to confirm a detail before we delete, to make sure we're deleting the right account.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, every row tied to your user ID is removed in a single database transaction. That includes:

  • Your account (email + hashed password)
  • Every birth profile you created (name, birth date, birth time, birth place, latitude, longitude, timezone)
  • Your full chat history and Esha's replies
  • Life events, conversation summaries, streaks, daily caches
  • Opt-in chat-quality evaluation rows, if you enabled usage telemetry

What we keep, and why

After deletion we retain only what is strictly necessary and non-identifiable:

  • Aggregated cost-accounting totals and fraud/abuse signals, where required for accounting and security.
  • Backup snapshots, which roll off on the standard Postgres backup cycle — deletion from backups can lag the live system by up to 30 days.

We do not keep your chat content or birth profiles after deletion completes.

Important: deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat under their own rules, not by us. To stop being charged, cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account before you delete your Esha account. Deleting the account alone will not stop future billing.

Export your data first (optional)

If you want a copy of your data before deleting, use the in-app data-export control (Settings → Export data, which calls GET /api/v1/user/export) or email privacy@askesha.com. We return a JSON file containing your account, every birth profile, every chat message, every life event, every conversation summary, your streak, and your daily caches.
