Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for paid subscriptions to Esha (the "Service"), operated by Phanidhar Rao Madduri (sole proprietor, trading as "Esha") ("we", "us"), 1-137/30A, Gokul Gardens, Ramanayyapeta, Kakinada Rural, Andhra Pradesh 533005, India. By starting a free trial or a paid plan you agree to this policy together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. Free trial

• New users get a 7-day free trial with up to 5 guidance questions per day. Your birth chart and daily insights remain available beyond chat.
• To start a subscription that includes the trial, your card or UPI must register a recurring payment instruction (an e-mandate) up front, as required by your bank and the Reserve Bank of India. No money is charged during the trial.
• We tell you clearly, before you confirm, that the trial converts to a paid plan and when the first charge will occur (at the end of day 7 unless you cancel first). You can cancel at any point during the trial and you will not be charged.

2. Plans, prices and auto-renewal

• All prices are in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of applicable taxes.
• Paid plans renew automatically at the price and interval above until you cancel. Your bank sends you a pre-debit notification at least 24 hours before each charge; you may decline an individual upcoming debit through your bank before it runs.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your full card details.

Outside India. When the flag-controlled international checkout is shown to an eligible buyer, Esha Pro is USD 9.99 a month or USD 99 a year, with the same 7-day free trial (once per account), and Dodo Payments is the merchant of record: Dodo charges your card, and its checkout is the source for the displayed price, currency, taxes, and invoice details. The Dodo receipt or payment ID is the transaction record. The plan renews automatically at that price and interval until you cancel; there is no Indian e-mandate, and we email you a few days before the trial ends and before each renewal.

3. How to cancel

You can cancel at any time, and cancelling is as simple as subscribing:

1. On the web: Profile → Subscription → Cancel subscription, or
2. Email support@askesha.com from your registered email address, or
3. Withdraw the e-mandate with your bank (this also stops future debits).

Option 3 applies to India (Razorpay) only; a subscription billed through Dodo Payments outside India is cancelled with option 1 or 2.

Cancellation stops all future charges. Your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, then your account returns to the free experience (chart and daily insights stay available).

4. Refunds

• Because the 7-day free trial lets you evaluate Esha at no cost, a billing period that has already been charged is generally non-refundable, and we do not refund partial/unused time after a renewal. Cancelling prevents the next charge.
• We will refund promptly where a charge was clearly erroneous — for example a duplicate charge, a charge after a valid cancellation, or a charge for a period in which the Service was materially unavailable due to our fault.
• Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–7 business days (subject to your bank). For a subscription billed through Dodo Payments, Dodo issues the refund and the subscription ends immediately.
• To request a refund, email support@askesha.com with your registered email and the charge date/amount. We acknowledge refund requests within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.

5. Failed payments

If a renewal charge fails, your bank may retry per its rules. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription pauses and your account returns to the free experience until you resubscribe. Outside India, Dodo Payments may retry a failed renewal; if it puts the subscription on hold, your account returns to the free experience until the payment goes through.

6. One-time reports (Complete Life Reading, Compatibility Report)

The sections above cover the recurring Esha Pro subscription. The Complete Life Reading (₹499 launch price) and Compatibility Report (₹299 launch price) are separate, one-time purchases — a single Razorpay payment, no recurring charge, no e-mandate. When the flag-controlled international Complete Life Reading checkout is shown to an eligible buyer outside India, its current price is USD 19 and Dodo Payments is the merchant of record; the Dodo checkout is the source for its displayed price, currency, taxes, and invoice details, and the Dodo receipt or payment ID is the transaction record. It is also a single one-time payment, with no recurring charge, and the refund terms below apply to it in the same way.

• Full refund within 7 days if the report is unopened. For the Complete Life Reading, "opened" means the first completed report render or PDF download. The PDF route records the same first-view signal, so downloading the PDF counts as opening the report. A checkout success page, status poll, or preparing page does not count.
• After opening, refunds are given only for erroneous charges or duplicate charges — the same standard as §4 above.
• To request a refund, email support@askesha.com with your registered email and the order ID from your receipt email, or the Dodo payment ID for an international Complete Life Reading. We acknowledge refund requests within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days; approved refunds return to your original payment method within 5–7 business days (subject to your bank).
• Approved refunds for the India checkout are issued through Razorpay; approved refunds for an international Complete Life Reading are issued through Dodo Payments using the Dodo receipt as the transaction record.
• A report refund revokes that report's link only — it never affects an active Esha Pro subscription on the same account.

If the Annual plan is shown, a Life Reading customer may also see a separate one-time bridge offer within 30 days of the Life Reading payment. The price is the amount shown at that checkout; payment is a one-time Razorpay order, not a recurring mandate, and the grant lasts 365 days. It does not auto-renew.

7. Reading Kit (one-time purchase)

The Reading Kit is a separate one-time guest purchase of calculation files, not an Esha subscription. The current public offer uses the India Razorpay checkout: the operator identified in the Terms sells the Kit and Razorpay processes the payment. Availability is determined by the checkout's territory checks. When the flag-controlled international checkout is shown to an eligible buyer, its current price is USD 12 and Dodo Payments is the merchant of record; the Dodo checkout is the source for its displayed price, currency, taxes, and invoice details, and the Dodo receipt or payment ID is the transaction record. Dodo processes approved refunds for that rail. Refunds for the Reading Kit are given for erroneous or duplicate charges, where required by applicable consumer-protection law, and under our works-with-your-AI promise: if your chart file will not load or cannot be read in ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude, tell us within 30 days of payment and we fix it or, if we cannot, refund you in full; if a calculated position in your file is wrong under the settings stated in the file (Lahiri ayanāṁśa, mean node, whole-sign houses) and the birth details you entered, we correct the file and send it again, or refund you in full if we cannot. Results that differ because another program uses other settings, or because different birth details were entered, are not errors. The promise applies wherever you bought the Kit; refunds for marketplace orders are issued through that marketplace. The Reading Kit is not sold to buyers in the EU/EEA/UK, Switzerland, Gulf countries, sanctioned territories, or when country evidence is missing or conflicts.

After successful payment, Esha emails a private link valid for 6 months from payment and up to 10 ZIP downloads. Each download is one ZIP containing the calculated chart text file for AI and the person guide PDF. The ZIP is generated when downloaded and is not stored.

A download request that passes the checks and produces the ZIP increments the download counter, which counts toward the 10-download cap. Opening the email, viewing the payment-return page, or checking the link does not.

• Refunds are given for erroneous or duplicate charges, where required by applicable consumer-protection law, and under the works-with-your-AI promise above.
• To request a refund, use the Help page or email support@askesha.com with the delivery email and the Razorpay order or payment ID for the India checkout, or the Dodo payment ID for an eligible international checkout when that rail was shown. Do not send birth details by email. We acknowledge requests within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days; approved refunds return to the original payment method within 5–7 business days (subject to your bank).
• Approved refunds for the India checkout are issued through Razorpay to the original payment method; approved refunds for an eligible international checkout are issued through Dodo Payments using the Dodo receipt as the transaction record. A refund disables the download link and deletes the encrypted birth details immediately.

Marketplace routes

Payhip redemption is not yet available in the public offer. If it is enabled, the Payhip paid purchase event is the purchase date; refunds follow the same erroneous-or-duplicate-charge rule above. The private link runs for 6 months from redemption, with up to 10 ZIP downloads. Payhip's receipt is the purchase record; Esha fulfils the Kit through the redemption page. A Payhip refund or disabled licence revokes the link and deletes the encrypted birth details.

Etsy made-to-order intake is not yet available. If it is enabled, the Etsy receipt and Etsy Messages are the order record. A cancelled or refunded Etsy receipt stops fulfilment and no file is sent. The current Etsy code does not define a customer refund deadline, so no Etsy refund window is promised here. Do not send birth details until an Etsy order is accepted and the listing states the final refund terms.
