Asha's guest list contains only family in this made-up example; Vikram's starts with their wider circle. Asha represents Cancer's emphasis on emotional roots; Vikram represents Libra's concern with company and balanced inclusion. Both have begun planning before they have agreed what kind of gathering they want.

Cancer is water and Libra air: feeling and belonging meet thought, negotiation and social balance. Both signs are cardinal, the initiating temperament. Their possible friction is therefore not a lack of ideas, but competing directions. Giving each person responsibility for a distinct part of an agreed plan can make those initiatives easier to combine.

Belonging and fairness are related, not identical

The Moon rules Cancer, whose portrait includes care, memory, nurture and roots in home and family. Its caution is holding on to people, places or a former sense of safety. Venus rules Libra, associated with partnership, balance, aesthetics, negotiation and the meeting of equals. Its caution is seeking consensus for a choice that needs an individual decision.

In the example, Asha's wish for familiarity does not automatically exclude fairness. Vikram's wish for wider inclusion does not automatically supply intimacy. Whose needs define the occasion, and which decision belongs to both people?

Naisargika graha-maitri means natural planetary friendship. The Moon is neutral toward Venus, while Venus counts the Moon as an adversary. Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS), Chapter 3, describes these natural relationships. The result is neutral in one direction and adverse in the other, rather than mutual enmity.

Home and duty in the 4/10 relation

Libra stands fourth from Cancer, and Cancer tenth from Libra. The chatur-daśama, or 4/10 relation, receives full marks in bhakoot, the sign-distance factor of guṇa-milāna, traditional eight-factor matching. Its symbolic theme connects home with duty. The calculation uses Moon signs and preserves the same axis when the partners exchange signs.

A full score here does not settle the rest of the assessment. It also needs each Moon's nakshatra, or lunar mansion, both ascendants (rising signs), seventh houses of partnership, Venus, Mars and daśā calendars, planetary periods. Sun-sign labels cannot supply these details.

Phaladīpika and Sārāvalī are the classical references for the sign descriptions. Asha and Vikram can first decide whether the gathering is a family reunion or a wider social occasion; that choice gives the guest list a clear purpose. The useful takeaway is a distinction between a personally meaningful choice and a shared fair arrangement: neither should be assumed to answer every question for the other.
